DASIGSChairman's message

A long-standing bond, a future to build.

What binds the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Senegal, and what our group intends to build there, alongside the people of Senegal.

One faith

Between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Senegal, the bond is first of all a spiritual one. Every year, the Kingdom opens nearly thirteen thousand Hajj places to Senegalese pilgrims, who perform the pilgrimage in Makkah and travel on to Madinah. We know both cities well: our family started out in Madinah, and for more than thirty years our group has welcomed pilgrims there, as it has in Makkah.

Since the 2026 Hajj, under the Makkah Route initiative, Senegalese pilgrims complete their entry formalities for the Kingdom at Blaise Diagne airport, before they even board. It is one sign among many of the trust between our two countries.

A deepening friendship

This fraternity has long gone hand in hand with cooperation. Since the late 1970s, the Saudi Fund for Development has supported Senegal, from roads to drinking water. The Islamic Development Bank, headquartered in Jeddah, has financed more than two hundred projects in the country.

Dialogue has grown stronger still in recent years. In October 2024, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye presented the “Senegal 2050” vision to Saudi investors in Riyadh. In October 2025, the Kingdom was the guest country of honour at the Invest in Senegal Forum, where the President praised “the depth and vitality of the relations between our two nations”. We share that view.

“Our two peoples share the same faith. We want them to share in the same successes, too.”

Why Senegal

We chose Senegal for the strength of its institutions, for its young people and for the clarity of its course. The “Senegal 2050” National Transformation Agenda sets clear priorities and gives the private sector a major role. The Kingdom is itself undergoing a profound transformation under Vision 2030: we know what such a national project asks of the companies that take part in it.

What we intend to build

Through DASIGS, our group wants to put what it has learned over forty years at Senegal's service: designing, financing and delivering works that last. Our priorities follow the country's own: affordable housing for families, public facilities (schools, health centres, markets) and infrastructure that connects regions. We intend to commit long-term capital to them, through proven structures: public-private partnership, turnkey contract, concession.

We also want to pass on what we know. Every project should bring in Senegalese companies and train the country's engineers, technicians and workers. That is how an investment becomes a partnership.

A long-term commitment

I have had the honour of being received by the President of the Republic, and I appreciate the trust that the Senegalese authorities place in our group. We have come to stay. In Dakar, Mouhamed Bachir Ndiaye, Managing Director of DASIGS, and his teams carry this commitment forward every day. Our door is open to public authorities, local governments and companies that share this ambition.
